EXHIBITION DESIGN

COMPETITION ENTRY 2016

This interactive exhibition concept enables visitors to explore the natural and cultural history of sheep and wool through a range of haptic and digital installations. The exhibition is structured thematically, focusing on a series of dialectical relationships between animals, humans, technology, and the environment – in different permutations – with the ultimate aim of prompting visitors to answer the important questions for themselves: Is wool ethical, is it sustainable, and is it something that should remain part of our shared cultural heritage into the future?

The exhibition design concept draws heavily on feminist and post-colonial theories as well as on environmental, economic, and political writings, including the work of Vandana Shiva, Naomi Klein, Donna Haraway, Jeremy Rifkin, and George Monbiot.

"Every nail driven should be as another rivet in the machine of the universe, you carrying on the work."
